    At APM Technologies, social value is not treated as a standalone initiative or a compliance exercise, but as an outcome of how we operate as a business, how we treat our people, how we engage with partners and how our technology contributes to wider economic, social and environmental objectives. As a specialist aviation software SME operating in a highly regulated, safety-critical and global industry, we recognise that our responsibility extends beyond delivering high-performing systems to our customers. We are committed to ensuring that our operations and services create positive and measurable social value in a way that is credible, proportionate and aligned with the UK Government’s Social Value Model.

    Our existing social value delivery is strongest where it is most authentic: in our people, our skills-led approach to employment, and the way our technology supports more efficient and sustainable aviation operations. We operate a merit-based recruitment and progression model that focuses on skills, experience and performance rather than background. This has resulted in a genuinely diverse workforce, with colleagues representing multiple nationalities across our internal team and external consultants. Diversity and non-discrimination are embedded within our ISO-aligned employment processes, and equal pay and reward are determined by contribution and capability. These practices are not theoretical; they are evidenced through real outcomes, including progression into senior roles and leadership positions by individuals who joined the organisation through early-career routes such as internships.

    We are equally committed to creating an inclusive and supportive working environment. Flexible working arrangements, including home working and flexible start and finish times, are embedded into our operations to support work–life balance and wellbeing. We provide accessible workplaces, appropriate ergonomic equipment and a culture of trust and recognition, including bonus schemes and discretionary time off to acknowledge exceptional contribution. Our management approach prioritises people, demonstrated through practical support such as extended absence beyond statutory requirements when employees need it.     Beyond our internal workforce, we contribute to tackling economic inequality and skills gaps through education, training and responsible supply-chain practices. We also engage with and support SMEs within our supply chain, including the use of local and specialist providers for professional and technical services. Our commitment to prompt payment within 30 days ensures that smaller suppliers benefit from financial stability and improved cash flow, reinforcing inclusive economic participation.

    A defining element of APM Technologies’ social value is delivered through the impact of our software itself. Operating within the aviation sector, we recognise the environmental challenges associated with air transport and the importance of supporting Net Zero ambitions. Our systems are designed to optimise airline scheduling and operational decision-making, contributing to reduced delays, improved efficiency and lower associated emissions. We support airline compliance with international and regional carbon frameworks, including IATA, EU requirements and CORSIA, ensuring that environmental responsibility is embedded within operational delivery rather than treated as an afterthought. Internally, we have taken proportionate steps to manage our own environmental footprint, including compliance with waste and recycling legislation, the use of energy-efficient cloud infrastructure, flexible working to reduce travel and the establishment of a baseline emissions assessment through recognised tools.

    We are transparent about where our social value maturity is still developing. As an SME, we do not operate large-scale programmes or produce extensive standalone reports; however, this does not diminish our commitment. Instead, we focus on embedding social value into dayto-day decision-making, ensuring that actions are realistic, deliverable and evidence led. Where gaps exist, we are committed to continuous improvement, using structured review processes to strengthen our approach over time and align with evolving best practice and policy expectations.

    This Social Value Statement reflects both what APM Technologies already delivers and our ongoing commitment to doing more. By building on our existing strengths in fair work, skills development, inclusive economic practices and environmental impact through technology, we aim to continuously enhance the positive contribution we make to customers, communities and the wider public sector.
