Day of Operation Flight Watch Management
and Decision Support

On the day of operation, control and visibility of your schedule is critical to ensure the punctuality of your fleet and to be prepared for the unexpected. Weather, ATC, technical issues and airport suppliers are just some of the factors that can cause unexpected schedule changes. The need to make rapid decisions and reduce disruption when things don’t go to plan is paramount if you are to maintain a good level of service and profitability. APM has created an agile suite of software modules designed to automate and simplify your flight watch management tasks and to ensure you have all the information at your fingertips necessary to make the right decisions.

Stay in control of your fleet

SmartOps

When it comes to the day of operation, you need to effectively manage your business to ensure your aircraft stay on schedule, and hence arrive on time no matter what the challenges are.

SmartOps is an easy-to-use, intuitive software module that provides you with all the tools you need to make rapid decisions, thereby minimising delays and keeping your fleet on time. The program receives your live schedule automatically via APM&rsqou;s SchedulePlanner system, and as each aircraft is dispatched the flight sectors change colour to reflect punctuality. Any conflict, where a subsequent flight sector is impacted by a proceeding flight sector delay, will show up visually on the display.

The system can be configured to receive movement messages from both the Sita and Arinc networks, so that as the data is received the flight sectors will update on the graphical display, indicating both estimated and actual departure and arrival times. If the airline decides to delay a flight - or a number of flights - the SmartOps system can generate delay messages that can be communicated to handling agents. The system includes a number of user-friendly tools to delay, cancel, divert and reinstate flights, facilitating quick operational decisions. As actions are taken the system will warn the user if any aircraft turnaround times or curfews are violated.

SmartOps produces a range of reports including delay reports, day of operations reports and aircraft allocation schedule reports: all these can be configured by the user and exported or emailed from the system, saving time while improving productivity.

As with all APM modules, SmartOps is fully integrated with all our other modules and consequently the live schedule is automatically fed from SchedulePlanner. And operational flight changes made in SmartOps are updated in APM&rsqou;s crewing system, CrewLogic, without the need for any intermediary software.

OpsSim

OpsSim allows the user to create scenarios to manage conflicts and disruptions.

OpsSim’ offers:

  • The user to select a period of the operational schedule, and work with it off-line to identify the best recovery opportunities.
  • Ammended schedules can be re-imported into the live schedule.
  • New imports that will not overide any sectors that already have actual times posted.

WebOps

WebOps is a web browser allowing remote, real-time access to scheduling and flight watch displays and is an add-on feature to SchedulePlanner and SmartOps.

WebOps provides an internet or intranet link for remote users to gain full access to all real-time scheduling and flight watch displays, wherever they may be around the globe.

WebOps offers:

  • Either a fully graphical or text view only of schedules and day of operation.
  • The software provides functionality for remote users to update OOOI times for their airport of choice.
  • The ability to obtain and print Transport Operation reports.
